About me

I live in Devon with my partner, daughter and two cats!

I left my previous job as a music teacher in 2008 to adopt my daughter and carve out a new career from being creative. I had no idea how this would pan out, I was very naive but was determined to make a living from my creativity and stay working from home. I was the soul earner so failure was never an option - I had to make money from my work.

I initially threw myself into printmaking - printing paper and fabrics. Within a few years I was also an avid vintage fabric collector and then textile designer. I gradually became and illustrator and have been fortunate to have had over 30 books published in the past ten years. I’ve also had some wondeful collaborations.

The journey hasn’t always been easy - as any self employed creative knows, there can be lots of uncertainty! However, I wouldn’t what to be doing anything else as I love working from home doing what I love. I also love the challenge this life brings.
